Easy Ways For Becoming More Confident And Conquering Self Doubt

We all experience times when we undergo feelings of inadequacy and incompetence. Unfortunately, for some it happens way too often. Do you spend time putting yourself down? Do you still make a strong effort to learn to become better in your life? Are you discouraged and sad all the time?

For many of us, self-doubt begins when we are children. It can be due to kids teasing us in the school playground about something that maybe is not even true, but we belived it anyway. Then, we carry it forward into our lives even today.

* Traumatic experiences can cause a vicious cycle of self-doubt in your mind.

Even teachers and parents sometimes cause long term emotional damage in children by saying things they may believe are harmless. The good news is that we can reverse these things and silence that negative voice that tells us we are no good.

Here are some tactics to help you erase that doubt and become more confident:

Release Those Negative Beliefs and Stop Criticizing Yourself

It does not matter if they occurred a long time ago or even yesterday. Why should something your manager said be allowed to make you have a bad day. Perhaps he put you down because he was feeling inadequate himself? Let his negatives be more of a reflection of his negatives then a reflection of your inadequacies.

* Never criticize yourself, by deciding to give validity to someone else's negative feedback. This gives them power over you. Take control!

* Pay no attention to that voice in your head that's saying you're going to fail. If you stop listening, it will get quieter and eventually disappear.

* Use empowering statements that encourage you towards success.

* Stick around those who support you and complement you.

Prepare Yourself and Do Your Best!

Positive thinking is nice, but it is also important to go after success, too. Proper visualization of where you want to be will ensure that you do the right things and it is up to you and no one else. Focus on your positive attributes and not the negative shortcomings.

* Make a list of at least 5 good things about you. Every day when you wake up read the list. Reading aloud will also help you to believe the items you've listed.

Don't under estimate positive thoughts. They put your mind in the right frame for success. There are many other methods you can put the odds of success in your favor, too:

* Set reasonable goals. Decide what you want to do within a set amount of time. Keep your goals realistic so you can meet them. If you set unrealistic goals that you can't meet, you'll quickly become discouraged. Start out small and get bigger with your dreams.


* Be active. Inactivity can lead to discouraging feelings. Prevent that mind spiral, by diving in and tackling the daily activities that will make your goals a reality. It will pay huge dividends.

* Where your successes proudly. You deserve to be successful. Don't be a self-doubter. Conquer that self-doubt and become more confident. Enjoy these positive feelings. They are yours and you deserve them. Don't let anyone tell you differently.

It takes many small leaps to reach a mountain top. Enjoy each and every step of the journey, knowing you are getting closer to your destination with every step.

Taking baby steps and attaining many small successes will bring you the confidence to reach your dreams. In the meantime, sit back and enjoy the journey to becoming the self-assured person you know you can be. It's a wild ride, but it's well worth it in the end.
